Members & Guests

Good morning LPPC Picklers and the World!

I hope you’ve been enjoying our courts out at Finley Butte Park. I know I have! It’s been great to see the groups coming and going and getting out there (while TRYING to practice safe social distancing).

We’ve seen quite a few guests coming along to play with members, so I thought I would address our policy on that so everyone is on the same page.

First- There is a drop-in fee of $5 per person per visit. In the past, we’ve said first time is free, and I think we should honor that. But if you have someone visiting more than once, please let them know that it will be $5 for each additional visit going forward. These fees go directly into our court fund to help maintain and improve these beautiful courts. CAPTAINS- You should be collecting this money and setting it aside for Mark, our treasurer. And if your friends are coming more frequently, get them to become a member- it’s only $50 for the year!

Second- If you are bringing someone who is not rated at your level, please do not add them to the list on Sign Up Genius. SUG is specifically for those in that bracket of play. Your guest can come with you and if there are others who would like to play with them and are available, great! But there is no guarantee of a game with the group. We want to respect the quality of play and the levels of play so they don’t get diluted.

But remember your other option- You can simply show up as a public player and be put on a court of your own and go at it. If you go that route, please do not put your name down on SUG as you are now coming as a public group.

All this being said, I know during a session things get mixed up pretty quickly. All I ask is that we respect other’s play and if there is a discrepancy of levels sitting around waiting for play, please yield to those who are properly signed up and rated. If you are invited on to a court, have fun! Just don’t expect it because you happened to be standing there.

We are trying to keep things consistent and the captains need to make sure we are following our procedures. If you see something unusual, please bring it to the attention of the captain on duty.

Thanks everyone and I hope to see you out there!
