September 2023 Member Update
LPPC Leadership Committee
Per our email last week, the leadership committee is getting some new faces starting this month. Thanks to everyone who volunteered to join this group we actually exceeded our goal of 7 members and instead have 9 people on the committee going forward for the next year:
Mike Edson (new)
Cathy Hundley (continuing)
Margaret Martin (new)
Cheryl Patzer (continuing)
Ryan Pierson (continuing)
Dennis Reutov (new)
Paul Sinclair (new)
Carlos Soto (new)
Michal Yourdon (new)
And stepping down are Mike Patzer and Whitney Smith. Thanks to Mike for multiple years of service to this organization, especially for all of his hard work to maintain and significantly improve our courts and the areas around them. Whitney (the slacker) only served a year on the committee, but with some new work opportunities taking her time, she is going to hand off the communication and Court Reserve reigns to some of our new leaders.
Annual Dues: Upcoming Changes
As many of you are aware, dues for our club have not changed in many years. Unfortunately, we can see some looming large expenses in our club’s future, largely with respect to the cracks that continue to form on our courts and which get worse each winter. We have made the decision to increase dues in order to build a reserve fund to draw from when the time comes.
Starting October 1, 2023, the annual membership fee will go up to $100 for an individual or $200 for an immediate family (includes up to two adults and all children in the household under 18).
Note that current members cannot prepay their dues in order to avoid the higher rates. You can see when your membership expires by looking at Court Reserve under “My Membership”.
Pickleball for Patriots
Thank you to all our members who played in and supported the Pickleball for Patriots Tournament in August. Keaton Kalmbach, sponsors, and those who played and/or donated helped to raise $6,340 to help Central Oregon Veterans!
